Congratulations to our teams at The Bower and Edmonton Green Shopping Centre who have been shortlisted for this year’s Property Awards

Vibrant office and leisure destination The Bower, on Old Street in Shoreditch, has been shortlisted in the Climate Crisis Initiative – Commercial Property category thanks to their work in implementing an innovative Bio Hygiene cleaning program with the support of their specialist cleaning partner GreenZone. Since putting the regime in place, the building has seen a 50% reduction in plastic packaging and a 90% reduction in carbon – you can read more about the impact the program has had here.

Associate Director Gary Metcalf, who has led the team at The Bower throughout the process said of their nomination ‘We are delighted to be finalists and the results at The Bower show the huge potential environmental and health benefits of challenging the norms in facilities management.’

As a shopping centre sitting right at the heart of their neighbourhood, the team at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, London, work hard to put the needs of the local community at the heart of how the centre operates. After reaching out to community groups and residents to determine what support was needed locally, the centre created the ‘You Care, We Care, Edmonton Cares’ community response plan, landing them a nomination in the Social Impact Initiative – Commercial Property category. Throughout 2021, the scheme helped 77 organisations, donated 146 hours of the site team’s time, and raised over £14,000 for good causes.
