For the second time this month, we are delighted to announce that the team at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, London, are award winners!
The team came out on top at this year’s Estates Gazette Awards, winning the Superhero Award (Company or Team) for their work supporting the local community throughout the coronavirus crisis.
‘Ashdown Phillips gave a great example of a business reaching out to the local community in a time of crisis.’ said the award judges. ‘This company has supported a significant number of people at an extremely difficult time in an already underprivileged area.’
The centre team worked tirelessly throughout the lockdown period to ensure that local community groups and charities were supported. The team reached out to over 20 different community organisations, including the NHS and key workers, delivering care packages to vulnerable groups in need.
‘We can’t believe it, we’re really happy.’ said Operations Assistant Naomi Wainford. ‘We weren’t expecting it, so there was a lot of screaming in the office when the announcement was made!’
When asked if there were any moments that stood out for them, Operations Manager Marie Kyriacou-Edwards recalled delivering care packages to the supported living residents based on site. ‘We personally knocked on elderly people’s doors and handed out care packages and their reactions, were just amazing. They were so happy to see us and just have a chat and thanked us for everything we were doing.’
