Wizards, witches and White Walkers invade in hauntingly good Halloween events

Properties across portfolios have been getting into the Halloween spirit with a series of spooky events!

Ladysmith Shopping Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne gave guests the shivers with their ‘Rise of the Walkers’ experience, as guests were hunted down by the Walkers over two levels of a haunted abandoned car park. The event proved a big hit with those brave enough to take part, with one spooked visitor exclaiming ‘It was amazing – thanks for scaring the life out of us!’. As well as leaving guests thoroughly shaken, the event also raised a fantastic £240 for the centre’s charity of the year, the Believe and Achieve Trust.

Younger visitors could also enjoy the frightening festivities by practicing their spells at The Ladysmith Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where Alchemist Dan Tastic took the children through a fantastical adventure to find the Stolen Stones of Merlin, where as well as casting spells they also got to meet a magical phoenix!

Meanwhile Middleton Shopping Centre in Manchester and Market Gates in Great Yarmouth both played host to Dragon Day. At 5 metres long, Vorka the dragon certainly made his presence know as he stomped around the centre, before being tamed by the young knights recruited to take part in the fantastic family show.

Also at Middleton, retailers got involved in a scary mask competition, with each unit creating and displaying a crafted creation and visitors to the centre’s Facebook page voting on their favourite macabre mask. Idlewells Shopping Centre also joined in the crafting fun, with their occupiers putting their own spin on skeletons for the public to judge.

Happy Halloween everyone!
