Flexible meeting and events spaces

In July 2019 we were approached by MEPC/Federated Hermes tomanage their meeting and conference venue in Leeds, having successfully managed multiple venues for them in the South. 

The venue was still in development but close to completion, so a swift turn around was required. We pulled out all the stops, working withMEPC to understand their aspirations and objectives and make their vision a reality. We worked with their architects and jointly created a brand to reflect the luxurious venue and to capture the level of service we set out to deliver, creating The Terrace.

It was clear that finding the right team to run The Terrace was key, so we moved quickly and began recruiting for the two newly created roles of Venue Manager and Events Coordinator. We were delighted with the level of talent we saw and employed two individuals who possessed excellent operational and organisation skills along with a natural flair for hospitality. 

We identified who our key service partners and suppliers would be and worked with all parties to set up an operation that would deliver a brand and experience in keeping with Wellington Place.  

The Terrace opened its doors in October 2019 and we worked hard to drive bookings in the first few months. In March 2020 COVID struck the nation and we responded accordingly. This understandably knocked the progress of the venue for 18 months. 

We were delighted when events were back, and in many cases bigger and better than ever!

The Terrace has become a well know premium venue in Leeds and used by Wellington Place residents and non-residents in equal measures. We host corporate meetings and seminars, large scale team training/away days, networking and celebratory events.  Our versatile venue can be transformed to host BBQ’s, live music and we have even become a TV and film set on two occasions.  

We have been operating at capacity for some time, and we are now in need of more space to accommodate the demand. MEPC has witnessed the huge benefit in investing in amenity space which complements the building/estate and enhances occupier expereince. As a result, they have agreed to invest in the venue’s future reconfiguring the space to optimise efficiency and respond to the customer needs. 

Our Terrace team is well connected the rest of the business, visited regularly and encouraged in turn to visit our offices and managed properties and to join all company-wide events. Key to their development istraining, and we provide every member of our team with a bespoke programme centred around customer service brilliance.
