Orbital Retail Park, Cannock

We were appointed by Clearbell as managing agents for Orbital Retail Park in December 2020.

At Orbital, customer experience is at the heart of everything that we do and we know that brilliant property management is about more than just delivering brilliant basics which is why it doesn't matter whether the building we manage is a Shopping Centre, Retail Park or a Port, we demonstrate the same level of detail and attention to every site under our care. 

Since taking on the scheme, we have worked hard to improve the environment and have made plans to create a more sustainable retail park through engagement with our occupiers, our client and our service providers.  One of the major issues the team got stuck into sorting out straight away was the repair of the surrounding road surfaces and the overgrown shrubbery on the roundabouts.  Reports were sent to the council regarding both issues which has resulted in the council sending an inspector to assess the areas, which we hope will lead to the maintenance and repairs being carried out shortly. 

Historically, litter has also been a problem, so we quickly set about arranging a full litter pick and deep clean which dramatically moved the needle in terms of presentation standards.  And we are now working with our client on sustainability initiatives, including the improvement of recycling and the provision of landscaping which reduces carbon dioxide levels.

As is the case across all the properties we manage, communication and engagement with occupiers is essential. We have set up a WhatsApp group to provide all store managers with easy access to our team.  Our Surveyor and Facilities Manager also make proactive contact on a monthly basis to improve the flow of communication. Both initiatives have already proven to be a success; Gill Richards, the Store Manager of M&S stated that she had “only met one member of the previous managing agents’ team once in the several years they managed the site”.  Since we have taken on the management, Gill has told us that she “feels that she has had a voice to raise issues and has been a lot happier with the care taken to look after the retail park”.
