Ashdown Phillips shortlisted for three SCEPTRE Awards

We are excited to share that Ashdown Phillips has been shortlisted in three categories at this year’s SCEPTRE Awards, which celebrate the best of the UK retail sector.

Our first nomination is for Sustainability Initiative of the Year, recognising the Digbeth Estate team’s programme to align infrastructure, operations and behaviour change. The initiative made sustainability visible and easy to engage with, increasing public and occupier involvement. Waste collections fell by 85%, recycling diversion reached 59.5% (surpassing the national average), and annual waste costs dropped by more than 70%. The team are delivering real environmental, social and community benefits.

The Digbeth Estate team have also been shortlisted for Innovation of the Year for its waste reduction, recycling and operational efficiency work, which achieved carbon savings of 96.71%. The project supports Digbeth’s creative and cultural identity but also proves as a scalable sustainability model.

Finally, the team at Weston Favell Shopping Centre have been shortlisted for the Diversity & Inclusion scheme of the Year award. They have introduced ‘Wellness in Weston’, weekly sessions which bring people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds together to connect, build friendships and encourage routine. Through popular demand, the attendee list is continuing to grow.

These recognitions are a testament to our team’s hard work and passion for what we do. Huge congratulations to all our finalists! The winners will be announced at the SCEPTRE Awards ceremony in September.
