Working alongside their partners, Aston Services Group, Middleton Shopping Centre have successfully registered for The Disability Confident scheme.

The scheme is a Government-led initiative that supports employers in developing recruitment policies and tools to reduce barriers to employment for disabled people. The scheme helps to increase the understanding of disabilities and long-term health conditions by challenging attitudes and misconceptions about disabilities in the workplace.

Over the next few months the shopping centre will be aiming to achieve Disability Confident Employer and Leader status which will help to close the disability employment gap and enable the centre to become more confident in employing and retaining disabled people.
