Tributes were paid to the unsung heroes of Ashton-under-Lyne at the first ever Amazing Ashton Awards, organised by Ladysmith Shopping Centre.
“Ashton is filled with amazing individuals that work hard to make the community a better place and we are proud to put together this awards night to honour those who truly deserve it,” said Assistant Centre Manager Samantha Robinson. “I am overwhelmed by the support the awards have received”.
Over 100 award nominations were made, which were whittled down to the final shortlist of winners by a judging panel made up of residents of from the local community. Finalists and guests were then invited to the ceremony at The Village Hotel in Aston on the 21st of November to receive their awards.
As well as celebrating local achievements, the event also raised £230 for The Believe and Achieve Trust, which aims to improve the health of children and young people in Manchester who are facing challenges because of meningitis, disability or their personal situation and was chosen as Ladysmith’s Charity of the Year.
Congratulations to all the winners and well done to Ladysmith Shopping Centre for organising a fantastic evening for the local community.
