A huge congratulations to Alan Hupton, who has been awarded a prestigious Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Award for his tireless work fundraising for charities at the Idlewells Shopping Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield. He was selected as the Pride of Britain Regional Fundraiser for the East Midlands and will attend the televised ceremony in London on October 28th with other award winners, as well as a host of celebrities and even royalty.

Alan has been fundraising at Idlewells for 30 years and has raised over £220,000 so far. He is particularly passionate about the cause of helping sick children, so they do not suffer as he did when he was younger with a range of illnesses.

Idlewells Centre Manager Chloe O’Donnell who nominated Alan said that he is “over the moon” and has expressed how pleased everyone at the centre is for him.
