Celebrating Sustainability at the Green Apple Awards

On 17th  November representatives from three Ashdown Phillips managed properties attended a ceremony at the House of Lords to receive Green Apple Awards in recognition of their outstanding achievements in sustainability and environmental best practice. 

The Fairfax, Bristol, was awarded for its innovative approach to water management following the installation of a chemical free flushing system that offers zero emissions with waste being reused as resin. 

The Loom in London received recognition for its partnership with service partners JPC by Samsic to lower the site’s environmental impact while ensuring cleanliness. The project also focused on staff training and fostering environmental responsibility.  

One Bartholomew, London, was awarded for transforming its rooftop into an allotment that boosts biodiversity and has produced over 50 bags of organic herbs and vegetables that have been donated to a local community kitchen. 

Assistant Facilities Manager for One Bartholomew Zivile Gaiciune, said of the day ‘It was a real honour to attend the House of Lords on Monday and receive our very first Green Apple Award. Our One Bartholomew Roof Allotment case study was entered in the Conservation & Wildlife Projects category, and we were absolutely delighted to take home the Gold Green Apple Award’.
